Wonderful World News - Day 31 - Farmland Trusts

 This is part of a series of daily reminders that a more wonderful world is being built from the actions of millions of people, each day. You'll be offered examples to explore whenever you would like to be uplifted and inspired, energized and reassured. This is a wonderful type of world news!

 It seems obvious that we experience what we are paying attention to, so if we want more life-enhancing experiences, we should direct more of our attention to more life-enhancing news, happenings, and stories.

Also, when we feel life-enhanced, we are radiating, broadcasting those "vibes" outward, and others are uplifted into resonance, to some degree. And the more of us radiating, the more others are uplifted. So joy is service!

In this series, we'll emphasize discovering whole groups of people who are creating a more wonderful world, each in their own way.

Farmland Trusts 

in WA and elsewhere

My favorite because it's local to me is PCC Farmland Trust. I support them. This trust program is 20 years old and has saved and supported many farmers. The program is a registered charity, supported by ordinary folks who care! Their successes are inspiring.

"Washington Farmland Trust protects and stewards threatened farmland across the state. We keep land in production by making it accessible to future generations of farmers."

"Local farms are essential to our daily lives. Investing in Washington farmland means healthy food for our children, thriving rural economies, and fertile, productive soil. In other words, farms impact all of us, and make our communities better places to live, work, and play.

But over the last four decades, some of Washington’s best farmland has been irreversibly lost to development. And in the next ten years, 70% of our farmers will retire without a successor in place. 

"As the cost of land continues to rise, our state’s best farmland goes up for sale, and climate change continues to pose a threat to our natural landscape, we are working to sustain a future for farming in Washington for generations to come."
